Hey folks.
I'm thinking of running my bike without the belt guard. I'm trying to clean up and simplify the looks of my bike. The stripped-down look (within reason!) is attractive to me.
This thread below (http://nmr.imb-jena.de/bheise/Fragen/messages/14583.html) mentions that you might get water and mud thrown up your back in the rain without it. Polar Pilot mentions this problem with chain lube on another bike he owned, but I want to know if the Savage belt will do it. Obviously, no grease, but how about water/mud?
I suppose I could be the "test" person if no one has done/experienced this.
My question is: Has anyone actually ridden without the belt guard? If so, does it really soak you up the back in the rain? Since I plan on rainy day rides occasionally, I would prefer to be dry and keep it on.
What's the deal with this?
